UPSC Badge Program
The US Pony Club has an achievement program for it's younger members to earn badges with the successful completion of various mounted and unmounted subjects. The Shore Riders Pony Club participates in the USPC Badge program and tries to schedule 'badge' meetings several times a year. The subjects taught in the achievement badge program are at a beginner, D1/D2 level. Not only does the badge program ensure the subject matter is being taught the 'pony club way', but provides an opportunity for our older and/or higher rated members to teach, earning them the much needed teaching and 'giving back' requirements for their own future ratings.
Shore Riders Pony Club will try to have several "Badge" meetings per year where the members will be able to complete the requirements for one or more of the badges. Shore Riders will supply the workbook to each participating member. An email will be sent announcing the date and which badges will be covered, generally 4 badges will be covered during a 2 hour meeting. The badges will be given out at the end of the meeting to any member who completed the requirements.
In 2014 our members earned unmounted badges on: Tack, Feeding, Horse Parts, Shoeing, Leading, Turnout, Stable Management, Conditioning, and Travel Safety

(Additional ribbons may be purchased at the US Pony Club Shop.)
However you choose to display your badges, remember to bring them to all pony club competitions to display your accomplishments!
